以前読んだ"Fish Face"がとてもよかったし、期待してよんだけど、
やっぱりよかった。

文章がとても静かなのに、

どうしてだかわからないけど、

イメージが鮮やかにうかぶ、

とても印象深い作者さんです。

最近、娘がはまっている「名探偵コナン」。
英訳も出ているけど、お高いので、
レンタルDVDを借りて日本語で見た後、
Youtubeに英語版があったので、
ディクテーションしてみました。

字幕と吹き替えの翻訳が違って興味深いです。
いくつか書き出してみました。
（長文の聞き取りが正しいかどうかは、いささか怪しいです）
マンガ未入手なので、原文と対比できなないんですが、
DVDの記憶をたどってます。


新一：
（字幕）Here. Aren't you thirsty?
（吹き替え）You look kind of thirsty.
→これはねぇ、断然、吹き替えのほうがいいなぁ。
好みかなぁ。

新一：
（字）You'll see.
（吹）Just be patient.

新一：
（字）It's my present for you winning the karate tournament.
You should be thankful.
（吹）Just considered this my present you for winning city karate championship.
I hope you enjoy it.
→これは字幕の方がそれっぽい。
「感謝しろよ」くらいの高びーな態度がよく出ていると思うので。


コナン：
（字）One truth will prevail.
（吹）There is always only one truth!
→字幕はちょっと文語的？吹き替えは子供っぽい？
でも原文が子供らしいセリフだから、吹き替えのほうがいいのかな。


コナン：
（字）What do you think that man's job is?
（吹）What do you suppose that man does to earn a living?
